Formed by ice
Farmed by time
Forever changing
Snow on mountain tops
Still water in the loch
Silver frost on land
Faraway (the distance)
Further (the mind)
Forever (the scene)

Writers and poets respond to my pictures through a story, an inspiration or poetry... this way the images take on a life of their own...
Ancient relics in modern times
Preserved for beauty; telling the story of a people
A people who shaped the culture of a country and region
For many not from this land Angkor is a work of art and historical significance
Very few people of this land reap the benefits of Angkor the ‘business’
What will Angkor represent to future generations? Art? Money?
I guess it depends on what angle you’re looking at it.

Nothing is more humbling than to witness the splendor of a sunset.
The explosion of glorious colors, the unseen hand deftly painting the horizon in rapid, dexterous strokes -
is a sight that never fails to inspire awe and evoke a sense of worship, even in the unbelieving heart.
It arouses an instinctive affirmation of a Greater force, omniscient, unparalled, unrivaled.
It reminds us of our humanity, with all its limitations and frailties.
It reduces our imperious self-glories and pompous personal triumphs
to a hollow apology for our awkward attempts to imitate its grandeur.

I'm telling the world
as it gathered phase...
intelligence of a dead matter...
sailing...sailing
and drift to uncertainty and doubt
I think I'll follow the living call...
right in front of my very eyes...
intelligence of a living matter lost...
I'm telling the world
life conflicts that is not life....

A stroll down to imagine the streets when all the buildings so colorful...
what a dazzling sight it must have been in the tropical light.
The building skill and attention to aesthetics
have given these edifices of a by-gone era a timeless beauty
and are testimony to a past when pride,
visual pleasure and harmony were essential to life.

Is the symmetry of man superior to the disorder of nature?
Such pleasing curves and balanced proportions,
the mathematician merges with the artist.
Buddha surveys from on high the intricate carvings of symbols,
sheltered by serpent like gargoyles on layered roofs.
A tree here, a bush there, a creeper spreads along the parapet.
Nature’s flora will have the last word,
wherever the mood takes it,
gradually returning order to chaos.

Though ravaged by time and worn by weather, this wall still stand,
a silent sentinel to generations of rickshaw drivers who take a moment’s respite from their labours
and seek refuge in its shade from the scorching midday heat.
It mutely witnessed the passage of years,
seemingly taking comfort in the thought that - as mankind rapidly evolved from telegraph to email,
from steamships to stealth planes,
from cannons to nuclear bombs - in this small corner of the world,
the rickshaw remains a staple of everyday convenience.

All in life is but a mirror image
Someone's loss, another's gain
A shout for joy or a cry of pain.
Now the sky is blue
But soon the rain and clouds will loom
Yet the sun will shine forth once again
To nourish man's quest for bliss.
As the mountains listen keenly
And the waters wait patiently
Lay still and ponder
Gaze at the reflection of your soul.

Oh scarlet door,
what lies beyond your brightly painted panels?
Do you lock yourself to safely seal your secrets?
What mysteries are waiting to be discovered
in the nooks and crannies of the chambers behind you?
Are you shut close, aloof, wary or afraid ...
of unbidden strangers,
of unwelcome neighbours who might come calling at your doorstep ----
and sniff the stew simmering on your stove?

The deceptively graceful sliver of lightning
that tore the blue peaceful velvet of the Bangkok night sky
strongly reminds us of the invisible
strongly reminds us of the invisible
but powerful energy field that envelops and unites us all,
reminding us every now and then that no matter how high we build our skyscrapers
and how efficient our urban systems,
nature is still supreme and will take us into account for how we steward for it.
The formally balanced composition belies the imbalance portrayed.
